I spotted this at De-Trafford Junction whilst out for a walk on the old track-bed. I do remember it in working order before the line closed in the early 70s.

I like photos of unusual objects like this one....I took a photo of a Water Board marker in the woods where I live...its not in the Wigan area so I can't 'show & tell' but I think its a good pic !

did you know if you walk on the old track bed at red rock there is still a plain yellow mile post( number 1 mile post)near the old station house on the left hand side as you walk just pass the house.

Theres also some fencing made out of old railways lines.
