What I remember after my journies from Wigan to London and back, with the windows open, is dirty collars and cuffs, and soot on my face. Those were the days !

My Dad was a loco Driver and he retired just before the Deisals came in nd he said he was glad he didnt have to work those trains , remember him coming home after a double trip as they called it and had got stuck in a snow Drift UP SHAP for over 4 hours
