Remember that well from my school days. It must have quite something in it's day when a full band played on there. No tv or radio in those days so lots of entertainment for people.

I remember as a kid,hundreds of people dancing around the band stand to the brass bands, on a Sunday afternoon.Great .

Never remember a band,just happy memories of roller skating round and round and then being chased off by the park keeper. he never caught up with us . Happy days

I am proud to say that my nephew Alex Gregory of Standish played in a brass band recently which was the last band I believe to play in the old bandstand.
