Pier Statue

Pier Statue
Only 2 of the 4 statues on the canal remain, sadly, they have both been vandalised.

Its sad state of affairs when nothing can be left in Wigan with out being smashed up.

I would look at the crowd who come out of the Wigan Pier night club on smoke breaks.

We should go back to the old ways of the laws, today laws are to soft. Made you wonder why they get away with it, our country gone to the dogs.

Alan,I couldn't agree with you more.

The majority of people who go to the Pier night club come from Liverpool Mick.

Sounds to me like it's time to get shut of the Pier nightclub, along with a few more I could mention.

Here here John. The Pier should have been shut down years ago. Unfortunately I work with some regulars there - not exactly people you want to mix with.
As for the art, there's a lot of modern art dotted around the country that I think is garish, but the worst reaction from me would be sarcastic comments and maybe a bit of sniggering.

CCTV? But yes,I agree, shut down the pier nightclub, I went there in the early 80's not brill then. At least if all the entertainment is in the town centre the police and camrera can keep their eye on things. Maybe even make the statues out of concrete, or stronger stuff then fibre-glass.

Looks like a hell of a trump to me I would have been proud of that one
