It's not far from the deep pit. If you walk up Ladies Lane just past Hindley Station, turn left down a dirt road (Hemfield Rd). Walk about 400yds and its on your left.

If keys can be distributed for disabled facilities why can't a similar arrangement be made for these discriminatory barriers?

Comment by: Evelyn on 6th March 2008 at 22:34

Brian, the road to the left just past the station is Highfield Road.

My Wigan A-Z is wrong, it says Hemfield Rd.

Highfield Rd it is, which leads onto Hemfield Rd, thanks Evelyn.

Why but them there in the first place Dave? They don't stop motorcyclist, but they do stop me . Apart from that, I'm not disabled. Just can't walk so good. Its the people that put them there who are disabled, under there hats.

Does anyone know who made this bridge? I`ve an idea that it was made by Walker (Bros.) Wigan Ltd.
