Over The Border
My wife is disabled but always for a few years wanted to ride a horse. Thanks to the owners and staff of landlords farm she got her wish and had a few rides round both the indoor and outdoor paddocks with the assistance of the obliging staff. Would recommend this farm to anyone abled or disabled to give it a try
Remember it when it was a farm - Hough family.
As that picture emerged Dennis, I knew exactly where it was. The old railway bridge would have been above you to your right - back in the day, with Dicconson Lane station c 45 degrees to your right.
Dicconson Lane? Dicky Loan!!
The sun is sinking in the West
Cows go down to the stream
The redwing settles in the nest
It's time for a cowboy to dream
Purple light in the canyons
That's where I long to be
With my three good companions
Just my camera, bus pass and me.
Good photo of Howthen Dennis.
An old schoolfriend was recently in Spain when a local Wigan newspaper printed photos of her grandson's christening and she messaged me via facebook to ask if I could get her a copy. I offered to drop it off at her house and she gave me a Westhoughton address complete with postcode, which we punched into the satnav. I was amazed to find the house was in what I still considered to be Hindley.....I had honestly thought the border between Hindley and Westhoughton was much further on. That is a lovely scene, Dennis.
John, it looks like a clean, tidy and professionally run equestrian centre.
Never rode more than a donkey myself, although I was on the back of a runaway camel in Egypt about 30 years ago. Said I would never climb onto anything with four legs, let alone a hump ever again!
