|Racially Aggravated Assault - Main Street, Billinge
Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following the racially aggravated assault of a 33-year-old postman on Main Street, Billinge, on Saturday 17 January.
At around 2pm the victim (who is of South American origin) walked down the footpath between Recreation Drive and Main Street in Billinge. Two men and a youth approached from the opposite direction and punched him in the face and back as they passed. When the victim fell to the ground they kicked him and subjected him to racial abuse, and when he tried to get up they punched him in the back of the head. He received injuries to his face and abdomen.
One of the offenders attempted to steal the victim's mailbag before running away in the direction of Recreation Drive. The other two offenders ran away in the direction of Main Street.
The first offender is described as white, in his mid-20s, of stocky build, around 5ft 7in with short dark brown hair and was wearing a red T-shirt with a light blue waist length jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.
The second offender is described as white, early 20s, around 5ft 9in with blond hair and was wearing a white T-shirt with brown paint splattered on the chest and dark tracksuit bottoms.
The last offender is described as white, between 14 and 16 years old, of slim build with cropped dark hair and was wearing a white hooded jacket with white tracksuit bottoms.
