|Woman critical after bus fall
Police in Wigan are trying to trace a teenage boy who helped a pensioner who fell while on a bus heading to the town centre.
The 65-year-old woman was on the 611 bus at about 3.15pm on Sunday 14 December 2008, when, it is thought, the driver was forced to brake suddenly, causing the woman to fall.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury and remains in a critical condition.
A boy, believed to be about 17 years old and called Joe, helped the woman.
Police are eager to trace this boy while they try and establish exactly what happened.
The incident happened near to the stop known locally as Evans House Farm or Spielding Drive.
Police Sergeant Garry Lyle, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "This woman has suffered extremely serious injuries and we are trying to establish exactly what happened.
"We are due to speak to the driver but are especially keen to identify the boy who came to the woman's aid.
"I would also like to hear from anyone that may have seen what happened."
