|Woman and child in hospital following road traffic collision in Hindley
A woman and child are in hospital after two cars collided in Hindley.
At 8.45am on Tuesday 12 August 2008, police received reports of a road traffic collision on Leigh Road, Hindley, Wigan.
Police attended and found a Ford Ka had collided with a Volkswagen Touran.
The 21-year-old driver of the Ka suffered a serious head injury and a four-year-old girl who was in the back seat suffered head, leg and chest injuries.
Both were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries, which are described as serious but not life threatening.
No other injuries were reported.
A number of road closures were in place on Leigh Road, but they have since been lifted.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Leigh Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 7201.
