Missing from home - Gordon Sneade
Missing: Gordon Sneade

Police are growing concerned for the whereabouts of a 36-year-old Wigan man who has been missing from home since last month.

Gordon Christopher Sneade was last seen on 28 January 2008 after leaving his address on May Avenue, Abram at about 1pm. Gordon was due to open his place of work, the Abram Village Club, at about 3pm but did not show up.

It is believed he may be in south west England and police are now appealing to anyone who knows of Gordon's whereabouts to come forward.

He is described as white with short cropped light brown hair, blue eyes, about 5ft 10in tall and of heavy build.

On the day of his disappearance, he was known to be wearing a dark grey woollen mix button jacket, a t-shirt and blue jeans.

Sergeant Graeme Edwards, based at Bamfurlong Police Station, said: "Gordon's father and his partner are obviously very worried for his safety and want to know he is safe and well. I would ask that if anyone has any information about his whereabouts that they come forward so his family can have some peace of mind.

"And if Gordon is reading or hearing this, please contact either the police or your family as they are very worried about you."

Anyone with information about Gordon's whereabouts is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050.
