Supermarket burgled - Wigan
Friday 12th October, 2007

Burglars used cutting equipment to break into a Wigan supermarket.

At around 9pm on Wednesday 3 October 2007, offenders approached Netto supermarket on Worthington Way, Winstanley, and cut a 3ft wide hole in a window shutter.

However, they set off the burglary alarm so they placed a large box over the hole before leaving the scene.

They then returned 30 minutes later, but set off the alarm again and left. They returned for a final time at around 11pm and this time entered the store.

Once inside they stole a large quantity of cigarettes, bottles of spirits and mobile phones.

Officers in Wigan are now appealing for anyone who might have seen anyone acting suspiciously between 9pm and midnight that day to call police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
