|16-year-old girl raped, Wigan
Detectives in Wigan are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was raped in a churchyard close to Wigan Town Centre on Saturday 18 November 2006.
At approximately 10.15pm that evening the girl left the Dali bar in Wigan town centre with a man.
He took her onto Bishopsgate and into the grounds of All Saints Parish Church where he raped her.
The girl then walked back towards the town centre in an extremely distressed state. She then told someone what had happened to her and they contacted the police.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around All Saints Parish Church between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday evening and remembers seeing anything suspicious.
They are also keen to speak to two women that the girl remembers speaking to on her way back to the town centre.

A 30 year old man from Appley Bridge has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He has been bailed until 23 January 2007 pending further enquiries.
