|Toy dolls stolen from yard
Police are appealing for information after thousands of pounds worth of toy dolls were stolen from a storage yard in Wigan.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 6pm, Friday 3 November 2006 and 4.50am on Monday 6 November 2006 at Georgia Pacific on Lockett Road in Bryn.
It is thought the offender or offenders stole hundreds of Bratz dolls from a trailer in the yard after climbing over a 6ft fence.
It is likely they then left in another vehicle parked nearby.
Police Constable Angelo Di Salvo from Bamfurlong Police Station said: "Hundreds of the Bratz Ice Champions dolls were stolen with a total retail value of more than £49,500 and I'd ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact us.
"In the run up to the festive period, I'd like to remind members of the public that they should buy items from genuine retailers, as it could be possible that you may be handling stolen goods, which is a criminal offence.
"If you inadvertently come across these dolls please contact the police so you don't get yourself into trouble.
"I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind companies to ensure their premises are as secure as possible so they do not become a target for thieves."
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time or who has any further information about the incident is asked to contact Wigan Police Station on 0161 856 7118 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
