Haigh's Fireworks Spectacular Sells Out In Style
Wednesday 1st November, 2006

Haigh Hall and Country Park's very own bonfire bonanza has proven so popular that tickets for the event have now completely sold out.

Billed as 'the hottest ticket in town', the event which takes place on Sunday 5th November, will be witnessed by over 2000 people. The family friendly night is set in the beautiful surroundings of Wigan's 'jewel in the crown' and features a spectacular bonfire and a choreographed fireworks display set to classical music.

This unique celebration, in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice, will also feature an exclusive live performance from Wigan's very own pop star Lauren Waterworth and a chance to sample traditional bonfire night food from Haigh's renowned catering team.

Rodney Hill, Chief Executive of Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, said, "This is a flagship event for us so we are delighted that the public have responded so well. A lot of work has gone into making this a well-organised, spectacular but safe event, where people can come and enjoy an evening of family fun at Wigan's favourite venue. We are also extremely pleased that we have been able to support such a worthwhile cause as Wigan and Leigh Hospice."

Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust are advising non-ticket holders not to try and gain entry to the event. Extra stewards have been drafted in for the event and there will be a strong police presence on site.

Ticket holders are advised to arrive early to ensure their enjoyment on what will be a very busy occasion. The event starts at 6pm, but access is available from 5.30pm. Only ticket holders will be admitted to the car parking areas. For further advice, customers are advised to call Haigh Hall on 01942 832895.
