Standishgate in Wigan Town Centre will come alive with a real taste of the world, from Thursday 14th March until Sunday 17th March traders from across Europe and some from a little further afield will descend upon Wigan showcasing Market Place Europe’s fantastic International Market.

Over 20 traders will bring a real flavour of Europe and beyond to the town centre with a wonderful selection of street foods, fresh foods, crafts and gifts from around the globe.

Just some of the tasty flavours which will be drawing in visitors to the international event include Spanish paella, Greek gyros, authentic Indian curry, Mexican quesadillas and delicious French crepes.

Market Place Europe’s new Operations Manager Andy Pidgen is looking forward to his visit to Wigan and the first market of the season. “As one of the oldest boroughs in Lancashire dating back to 1246 markets have always played an important part in Wigan’s history and Market Place Europe is pleased to be continuing that tradition.”

On Sunday 17th March we will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day as our traders will dress their stalls in green in honour of the emerald isle. That Sunday will also see the return of the annual Run Wigan Festival, so if you’re in town running in a race or supporting someone why not head over to the market to celebrate, refuel and unwind, we’re not far from the finishing line.

Our friendly traders look forward to welcoming visitors who are certain to experience a fun family day out with a difference.

Operating Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th March 2019
Open Thursday to Saturday: 09:00 to 17:30
Sunday: 10:00 to 17:00
