Lawyers put ‘mind over matter’ in fundraising trek
Thursday 10th August, 2017

A team of local solicitors have raised nearly £800 for the mental health charity, Mind, after scaling England’s highest mountain.

Volunteers from the wills and probate department at Stephensons - who have two offices in the Wigan borough – climbed 3,209 feet to reach the summit of Scaffell Pike in the Lake District in support of the charity.

It is one of a number of fundraising events being organised by Stephensons in support of Mind, which was nominated as the firm’s ‘Charity of The Year’ in April.

Research has shown that hiking and other outdoor pursuits have a measurable effect on mental health, reducing depression and anxiety. According to Mind, one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year.
