|Libraries the place to be this Wellfest
There is more in store than you might think at libraries across Wigan Borough for Wellfest.
A packed schedule of events has been lined up for the first week of Wellfest action.
From healthy themed sessions for youngsters to great opportunities for people to get out and meet others there is something for everyone at their local library.
Regular sessions such as Giggles and Wiggles and Rhymetime will look at healthy exercises and crafts based around the book I Donít Like Peas by Marie Vinje. While Get Online courses and Appy Days tablet computer groups will talk about health and wellbeing advice available online.
Wellfest is back this year and bigger than ever with two weeks dedicated to all things health and wellbeing.
Split over two weeks with the first running from Thursday June 22nd to Sunday July 2nd then a second from Saturday 9th September to Sunday 17th September, the festival spirit will be on show at libraries and locations across the borough.
Wellfest has been organised by public sector, charity and voluntary groups who have joined forces to encourage people to take up a new fitness challenge, get checked out or discover new ways to make life that little bit better through being healthier and more active.
It links into The Deal for Health and Wellness which was launched last year with the aim to increase healthy living and wellbeing across the borough.
