Wigan and Leigh residents invited to take up a pedometer challenge and learn more about their local health services
Wednesday 14th September, 2016

Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Bridgewater) is inviting people in Wigan Borough to attend its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 9.30am on Thursday 29 September at Bolton Whites Hotel.

The event will provide the opportunity to learn more about the Trust, which provides over 50 community NHS health services in Wigan borough such as District Nursing, Health Visiting, Physiotherapy and Leigh Walk-in Centre.

There will be a chance for everyone who attends to take part in a fun pedometer challenge with the winner receiving a Marks and Spencer gift voucher. There will also be a free yoga taster session.

Bridgewater Chairman Harry Holden said:

“Our Annual General Meeting is a chance for the public to learn about and discuss some of the exciting developments Bridgewater has experienced over the past year. This includes becoming the provider of new community NHS services in Bolton, Oldham and Southport, undergoing an inspection by The Care Quality Commission and embarking on some innovative new projects.

“Members of the public who attend can also speak to some of our frontline staff who continually show tremendous dedication in meeting the healthcare needs of the local communities we serve.”

The AGM will also incorporate Bridgewater’s Annual Members’ Meeting and will include an update on the main developments during the past year plus the Trust’s future plans, its Annual Report and Quality Account.

Refreshments will be available on arrival. The address for the Annual General Meeting is Bolton Whites Hotel, Macron Stadium, De Havilland Way, Bolton, BL6 6SF.

If you wish to attend the AGM / Members Meeting please email communications@bridgewater.nhs.uk or call 01942 482655 by 21 September.
