Charity Summer Fete taking place to raise money for little boy’s cancer treatment
4-year-old Charlie Taylor

Buttons & Bows Private Day Nursery in Atherton is hosting a charity fundraiser for 4-year-old Charlie Taylor, who needs £250,000 for vital cancer treatment.

Charlie’s grandmother Veronica says: “Charlie is just four years old; he deserves the chance to become a man.”

A local nursery is holding a summer fete to help raise money for a local boy’s cancer treatment.

Staff at Buttons & Bows Private Day Nursery in Atherton have arranged the fundraising event for Charlie Taylor, a local 4-year-old boy suffering from Stage 4 neuroblastoma (a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer).

An array of exciting family activities will take place at the fete including face painting, balloon modelling, games, prizes, wet sponge throwing, refreshment stalls and more. Entry is free and anyone who would like to join in the fun is welcome.

Charlie Taylor’s family hope to raise the £250,000 needed to take Charlie abroad for vital treatment which is not available in the UK. All proceeds from the Buttons & Bows Charity Summer Fete will go towards the Charlie Taylor Appeal to help them on their way.

Alison James, Nursery Manager at Buttons & Bows said:

“At Buttons & Bows our priority is providing excellent care for the children in our local community. This extends to children like Charlie Taylor who need an extra special helping hand.

“We hope the people of Atherton will join us in raising as much money for Charlie and his family as possible on what promises to be a fun-filled day.”

Charlie’s grandmother, Veronica Marriott from Leigh said:

“We’re raising money for Charlie so he can have treatment that isn’t available in the UK, giving him a better chance of the neuroblastoma not relapsing after his immunotherapy.

“Fundraising events like the Buttons & Bows Charity Summer Fete help Charlie by giving him the chance to receive the treatment that will give him the best chance of survival. Charlie is just four years old; he deserves the chance to become a man.”

The Buttons & Bows Charity Summer Fete will take place from 10am - 2pm on Saturday 11th June at Buttons & Bows Private Day Nursery 332 Hamilton Street, Atherton, M46 0BE. For more information in the run up to the event follow Buttons & Bows on Facebook or call nursery manager Alison on 01942 888 616.
