Stephensons, a national full service law firm with two offices in Wigan, has promoted two Associates to its partnership. Family law specialist Chris Fairhurst and regulatory and professional discipline expert Carl Johnson are joining the partnership this month.

Both legal experts are long-standing solicitors at Stephensons and have developed reputations as leading professionals in their fields of law.

Chris Fairhurst has over 20 years of experience as a family law practitioner and advocate. He is also one of a small group of dual qualified Resolution accredited and Children Panel accredited specialists in the country. Chris’ experience is sought after nationally and he is highly respected by clients as well as fellow professionals.

Mike Devlin, Head of Family Law said:” Chris is an outstanding lawyer who works to the highest standards and delivers exceptional results. I’m delighted that he has joined the partnership and know he will go from strength to strength”.

Carl Johnson specialises exclusively in professional discipline and regulation and is recommended in the current edition of Chambers and Partners. He acts for professional clients across a number of sectors, including healthcare, accountancy, property, construction and education. Carl is a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers (ARDL).

Sean Joyce, Head of Regulatory and Criminal Justice said: “Carl has played a crucial role in expanding the department and growing Stephensons as a whole. He is dedicated to the future of the firm and is well-deserving of this promotion”.

Chairwoman Ann Harrison said: “We are so pleased to welcome Chris and Carl to the partnership. Both have been with the firm for many years, showing dedication and loyalty. They have been crucial to the growth of the firm and helped to establish our stellar national reputation. I am certain that both will contribute hugely to the future development of the firm”.
