|Local subcontractors wanted for exciting housing programme
Construction companies, Seddon and Willmot Dixon Housing are on the lookout for local subcontractors to help deliver a new and exciting housing programme for Wigan and Leigh Homes.
The programme will see 250 new homes built over the next five years.
A supply chain event giving local companies an overview of the programme and information about the packages of work available will take place on Tuesday 27th January, between 8.15am 11.00am at Leigh Sports Village.
The companies are seeking a range of suppliers within a ten mile radius of Wigan and Leigh, including those in bricklaying, landscaping, plumbing, and carpentry.
Claire Makin, Business Development Manager at Constructionline said: We put on these events because it can be difficult for subcontractors to find out about projects with large firms like Seddon and Willmot Dixon. They help larger firms meet with a variety of suppliers and provide local contractors with a chance to get onto significant frameworks.
Gareth Roberts, Supply Chain Manager at Seddon, added: We are committed to supporting local businesses in the areas in which we work and investing in the local workforce. This event not only gives us the opportunity to extend our supply chain but will also create opportunities for those subcontractors who would otherwise find it difficult to gain access to such long-term projects.
The event will run from 8.15am with a presentation starting at 8.30am followed by networking until 11am and suppliers do not have to be a Constructionline member to attend. For more information or to register interest, go to www.constructionline.co.uk/events
