|Man punched after trying to break up fight
A man attempting to split up a fight was punched in Wigan.
At 2am on Sunday 1 June 2014, the 18-year-old saw a fight take place between two groups of men on King Street.
He walked over to try and split them up but was punched and knocked to the floor. Both he and his friends ran away.
The man who hit him is described as being white with sun tanned skin, in his early 30s, 5ft 9in tall and of stocky build. It is thought he was with another man who wore a bandana.
Police Constable Danny Welch said: “The victim has suffered permanent eye damage and has a blind spot, meaning he relies on his peripheral vision.
“All he was doing was trying to stop a fight and ended up getting hit himself. It is an absolute disgrace this has happened and I would appeal to anyone who may have been on King Street at that time and seen the incident, to call police.
“We do not know how many people were in the group but we believe the area would have been busy at that time. I would urge anyone who thinks they may know who was responsible to come forward.”
