Greater Manchester Disability Games 2014

YOUNG people from across the region will take part in a variety of sports competitions at the Greater Manchester Disability Games this week.

Organised by leisure and culture provider WLCT and held at Leigh Sports Village, more than 300 disabled athletes from Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan, Tameside, Salford, Trafford and Stockport will compete for a chance to be named the best borough in Greater Manchester.

They will compete in football, athletics, boccia, goalball and handball at the event on Friday 27 June, between 10am and 2pm.

Stuart Murray, Chief Executive at WLCT said: We are delighted to be hosting the Greater Manchester Disability Games for the fifth year running, and look forward to seeing some of the superb sporting talent we have in the region coming together to compete in Leigh.

Cllr Paul Kenny, Cabinet member for Resources, said: Its great to see such a diverse range of sports on offer at this competition and Im really pleased that the borough is once again supporting the event.
