|Woman punched in face
A woman was punched in the face when she attempted to stop an argument in Wigan.
Around 3am on Sunday 1 June 2014, a man approached a man and a woman on King Street close to Ibiza Bar being verbally aggressive.
Another woman, 21, then approached the group who she did not know, and asked what he was doing. The man immediately turned around and punched her twice in the face.
She started to walk away and then collapsed to the floor. She was taken to hospital for treatment for a fractured jaw.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 11in to 6ft tall and stocky. He is described as being in his late 20s, had short blonde hair and was wearing a purple or pink shirt.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Police Constable Danny Welch said: “This young woman only went over to the group to attempt to calmly diffuse the situation but the man suddenly turned on her and punched her to the ground.
“We would ask if anyone was in the area that night and remembers seeing the altercation or knows who this man may be that they come forward and tell police what they know.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
