Cash and mobile phone stolen
Tuesday 13th May, 2014

Two teenagers stole cash and a mobile phone from a man in Wigan.

Around 4.45am on Saturday 19 April 2014, a 24-year-old man was walking home from a party along Victoria Street.

Two young men approached him and asked for a lighter. The victim explained he didn't smoke. The offender then demanded his mobile phone, a white Samsung Galaxy Mini.

Due to the offender's aggressive manner, the victim handed it over. The offender then demanded his wallet. The victim got it out of his pocket and one of the offenders snatched it from his hand. Both offenders ran away into Alexandra Park.

The offenders are described as being white men, 16 to 18-years-old, and around 5ft 5in or 5ft 6in tall.

One had short brown hair and the other hand short black hair. Both were wearing dark clothes.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Detective Constable Andrew Hill said: "Due to the time of the robbery we don't believe there were any witnesses to the robbery. However, if anyone has any knowledge of the robbery, has any information about the people involved or the items that were taken I would ask that they call police."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
