|Two linked arson attacks - Wigan
Police are appealing for witnesses after two arson attacks in Wigan.
The first took place at around 2am on Sunday 9 March 2014 when it is believed three people broke into a stone merchants on Miry Lane. When inside the compound, they set fire to an HGV before leaving towards Woodhouse Lane.
The second incident took place on Sunday 30 March just after 2.30am at the same address where it is thought one person broke in and set fire to another HGV. The man then walked off towards Wallgate.
The offenders have been caught on CCTV on both occasions and the investigation is on-going. The offenders are described as male, slim build and wearing dark clothing.
Police Constable Mike Swan based at Wigan Police Station said: “We believe that the offenders are purposefully targeting the business premises."
“This has caused extreme distress to the owner and his young family, I would urge anyone who may have information as to who is responsible for this cowardly crime, to call us.”
