FA Cup partner Beko brings the national Keepy-Uppy Challenge to title holders Wigan Athletic FC
Wednesday 26th March, 2014

On Tuesday 8th April, the UK’s best-selling home appliance manufacturer, Beko, is bringing its national Beko Keepy-Uppy Challenge to FA Cup title holders and semi-finalists Wigan Athletic FC.

The FA Cup accompanied by FA Cup Legend Paul Jewell and World Record Keepy-Uppy champion, Dan Magness, will be at Currys PC World in Gower Street, Wigan. Local fans and members of the public will have the chance to meet Paul Jewell, have their photograph taken with The FA Cup and participate in the challenge themselves. In addition, every attendee who signs up on the day will be entered into an automatic competition to win either a pair of semi-final tickets (Wigan v Arsenal) or four FA Cup Final tickets.

The Beko Keepy-Uppy Challenge is open for everyone to enter, whether as an individual, club, or school. To enter, fans simply upload a short video which showcases their skills and keepy-uppys to www.beko.co.uk/keepyuppy. Prizes include sought-after FA Cup Final tickets, exclusive team training at The FA’s National Football Centre, St George’s Park, and top-of-the-range Beko appliances. In addition, Beko will make a donation to its charity partner Barnardo’s for every video entry received.

The closing date for entries is 21st April 2014 and winners will be announced on the 5th May - selected by an FA Legend and the current Guinness World Record holder for Keepy-Uppy’s, Dan Magness.

George Mead, Beko Brand Marketing Manager, comments: “As the tournament progresses into the semi-finals, local anticipation is building and we’re looking forward to helping Wigan fans celebrate by bringing our Beko Keepy-Uppy Challenge to town. We hope that this new challenge will really bring something different to the community – and get schools, teams and fans taking part. We’re really looking forward to seeing the entries – I’m sure that there are some amazing football skills hidden away in Wigan!”

FA Cup Legend Paul Jewell adds: “Beko bringing The FA Cup back to Wigan ahead of our big match is fantastic and will create real excitement in the area amongst fans. The Beko Keepy-Uppy Challenge is a great way to get the whole family involved in The FA Cup.”
