Defending FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic and Barratt Manchester offered visitors to Blundell’s Wood a fantastic chance to win signed Wigan goodies.
The Championship club, who defeated Premier League side Manchester City in a carbon copy of last year’s final to secure a place in the last four of this season’s FA Cup, provided prizes including signed balls, match tickets and a signed shirt. Barratt then asked visitors to the Blundell’s Wood to submit their names for a prize draw.
The shirt was won by huge Latics fans Colin and Sheila Pattison of Highfield. The prizes were donated as part of the partnership between Barratt Manchester and Wigan Athletic Community Trust. Barratt provides sponsorship funding to pay for the trust to offer football coaching in special needs schools across Wigan.
“It was great that we gave people the chance to win something meaningful from their club,” said Blundell’s Wood sales adviser Stephen Speed. “All the winners were thrilled with their prizes, especially Colin and Sheila.
“Perhaps one of them might even wear the shirt at Wembley for the semis!”
