Eagle Owl spotted at Haigh Country Park
Wednesday 19th March, 2014

WLCT is appealing for the owner of an escaped Eagle Owl to come forward. The bird – which is not native to Britain - has been spotted this week at Haigh Country Park.

Graham Workman, Biodiversity Manager, said: “We believe the bird must belong to somebody as we obviously would not normally see this species living in the wild in our local environment.

“If any members of the public do see the bird I would ask them to be cautious and not approach it as it is a big bird with rather long talons.”

If you have any information about the lost bird, please contact Graham on g.workman@wlct.org or on 01942 828238.
