|Failed ATM raid - Shevington
A planned raid on an ATM machine in Shevington ultimately failed.
The offenders tried to access the machine at the Post Office on Gathurst Lane between 1.15am and 1.30am on Sunday 10 November 2013.
They prised open shutters, broke into the shop but their efforts proved fruitless when officers think they were disturbed.
They approached the Post Office in cars described by witnesses as an Audi A5 and a Landrover Defender.
The offenders are believed to be three men wearing dark clothes. There may have been others waiting in the cars.
Detective Sergeant Graham Clare said: "We think there are a number of people who drove past the post office who must have seen the cars and may have thought the scene looked odd and suspicious.
"The cars may have been travelling in tandem and anyone who may have seen them before or afterwards should call us.
"We urge those with information to call us as soon as possible."
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7770 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
