|Get healthy at your local library
WIGAN and Leigh are set to go head to head in an exciting exercise challenge!
The activity, taking place at Wigan Library and Leigh Library, involves members of the public and staff from leisure and culture provider WLCT competing to see who can clock up the most miles on exercise bikes.
It’s just one of the many events on the agenda for Health Week, taking place at libraries across the borough from November 11-16.
Rita Devlin, of WLCT, said: “People of all ages will be able to find something to enjoy during Health Week. We’ve got everything from pamper sessions and expert speakers for adults to themed story time and rhyme time sessions for our younger customers, plus loads of information about keeping healthy.”
WLCT’s Library and Active Living teams have worked in partnership with the Public Health team at Wigan Council and the Bridgewater Trust to organise this week of activity.
Cabinet member for leisure and culture, Cllr Chris Ready, said: “It’s really important that we all stay active and healthy and I’d encourage everyone to pop in to their local library during Health Week to take advantage of some of the activities on offer.”
