|Garricks launches Wigan office
Blackburn-based commercial law firm Garricks has opened a new office in Wigan.
The firm, which focuses exclusively on commercial, corporate, commercial property and employment law, will be based at Wigan Investment Centre.
The office will be headed up by corporate partner Andy Herricks who is aiming to build a team in the town.
Andy, who lives in Wigan, said: “We have already worked on a number of projects for a range of owner managed clients in and around Wigan and by opening an office here we can be closer to our clients and professional partners.
“Wigan is a great place to do business and a hotbed of terrific owner-managed firms. Location wise, it’s a real North West hub with close proximity to Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire.”
Garricks was founded in 2008 in the midst of the recession and employs eight staff. Wigan will become the firm’s second office.
Cathy Rogers, a partner at Wigan-based NR Barton Chartered Accountants, on Bridgeman Terrace, said: “Wigan has a thriving professional services community and Garricks’ arrival will strengthen this and can only be good for Wigan businesses.”
Andy added: “Clients and contacts have regularly told us about a shortage of commercial lawyers in Wigan and we see this as a great strategic opportunity to grow our client base and build a team here.”
