|Car set alight, Billinge
Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was deliberately set on fire in Wigan.
At 11.05pm on Sunday 25 August 2013, three men were seen standing close to a house on Gantley Avenue, Billinge. Two of the men walked past the house, up Gantley Crescent and returned to the third man who had not moved.
The men then repeated the route again before one of them threw what is described as a petrol bomb at a Mitsubishi Shogun. They then ran off after the victim gave chase.
Two men were described as being white and mixed race, in their early 20s, of medium build, 5ft 1in tall and wore dark tracksuits.
A third man is described as being white, of slim build, in his early 20s, 6ft 1in tall, wore a dark tracksuit and a dark hooded top.
Detective Inspector Martin Reddington based at Wigan Police Station said: "The owner of the car is obviously distressed that his vehicle has been targeted and cannot understand why he is the victim of this crime. Fortunately no one was hurt and the fire was extinguished.
"I would ask anyone who may have witnessed three men acting in a suspicious manner in the area or saw which direction they ran off in to contact police as soon as possible."
