YOUNG people are being encouraged to take part in an exciting race to raise money for Wigan charity Joining Jack.
The Junior Joining Jack run, organised by leisure and culture provider WLCT, will donate all proceeds to the charity which aims to raise awareness and funds research into developing a cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, one of the most common fatal genetic diseases in the world.
Janet Bergman, of WLCT, said: “WLCT is really pleased to be supporting Joining Jack and we’re looking forward to welcoming young people to the arena for this fun event. I’d encourage anyone interested in keeping fit and helping a worthy cause at the same time to take part.”
The event takes place at Robin Park Arena on Saturday 7 September.
Participants can register on the day and the entry fee is only £1.
The following distances are available:
1k for children aged under eight; registration 10am-10.30am; race starts at 11am
