|Man steals cash from shop till as he pays for chocolate bar, Wigan
A man stole cash from a shop till as he paid the cashier for a chocolate bar.
The theft happened on Saturday 15 June 2013 at the Lidl store on Darlington Street in Wigan.
The man went to the till to pay for a chocolate bar and as the cashier opened the drawer, the man reached over, grabbed a large amount of cash and ran out of the shop.
The man was chased by a staff member but managed to run away in the direction of Warrington Road.
Police have issued CCTV images of the suspect and are appealing for information.
The man is described as white, around 6ft tall, medium build, wearing a dark jacket, dark baseball cap and large dark sunglasses.
Police Constable Richard Kelsall, based at Wigan police station said: “The images we have released of this man are of good quality and we are sure someone will recognise him.
“This man thought that sticking his hand in the till to steal a wad of notes was an easy way to earn himself some cash, but we are actively making enquiries to identify and arrest him.
“If anyone knows who this person is, or if you have any other information that may assist our investigation, please get in touch.”
