|All aboard for a great day out in Wigan this weekend
The 2013 Wigan Model Railway Exhibition returns for our second year in our new June slot with a whole host of attractions.
Wigan Finescale Railway Modellers have searched the country to bring some of the finest model railways, demonstrators and traders to the North West. Gathered in three exhibition halls, over 38,000 sq ft, we present over 35 layouts covering many of the major scales and eras.
Evoke memories of childhood trainspotting with model railway depicting the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s when proper trains ruled the rails! Layouts include the massive Law Junction at over 25ft long to the small but perfectly formed Highbury Colliery in 2FS scale. Over 45 specialist traders will be present: stock up on the latest train sets, models, kits, parts, tools, books and much more. The famous Wigan second hand stall will be here get in early for the best bargains! Demonstrators will be Ďshowing you how they do ití and talking modelling. Railway modelling, historical and preservation societies will be present as well.
The Wigan Model Railway Exhibition is held in three halls of the excellent Robin Park Arena & Sports Centre, which is opposite Wiganís DW stadium. Food and drink will be available in from Cafe Life which includes a licensed bar and hot food, and from the exhibition cafe.

Children go free and Adult tickets cost £10 and include a 40 page illustrated guide book. Your ticket allows you to spend all day in the exhibition and you can come and go as you please with Ďa pass outí. All profits go to staging future shows and to support the work of Wigan Finescale Railway Modellers.
