|Burglar who removed window jailed
A burglar who removed a double glazed window to break into a Wigan house has been jailed.
Paul Robinson (8/5/1970), of Bluebell Avenue, Beech Hill, Wigan admitted one count of burglary. Another count of burglary was taken into consideration.
At Liverpool Crown Court today, Wednesday 13 March 2013, he was sentenced to 25 months in prison.
Shortly after midnight on 4 November 2013, Robinson broke into a house on Ladies Lane, Hindley, by removing the beading from around a downstairs window before removing the glass.
He entered the house and searched inside but did not steal anything.
Officers attended and his fingerprints were recovered from the windowpane.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Rigby, said: “The victim has made her house as safe as she could have done and has gone to bed with all windows and doors locked.
“But that has not perturbed Robinson, who is a seasoned and skilled burglar. He has removed her window and broken into her house before leaving empty handed.
“While nothing was stolen, the victim was still understandably upset at knowing someone had gone to such lengths to break into her home and I hope she can now rest easy knowing he is behind bars.”
