|Man breaks into house, Golborne
A man broke into a house where a 13-year-old girl was sleeping in Golborne.
At around 3am on Monday 11 February 2013, the offender opened a bedroom window to a house on Ash Grove and climbed in before walking on the landing into another bedroom.
A 13-year-old girl woke up and screamed, causing him to run off. He took a packet of cigarettes and escaped out of the window.
The girl was not hurt.
The man is described as being white, tall and of skinny build.
Police Constable Sophie Roberts based at Leigh Police Station said: "The teenager is understandably still shaken by this incident and was terrified that this man was standing in her own home. Fortunately, she was not hurt and when she screamed, the offender ran off.
"We believe this man was an opportunist who was testing windows and doors to see if they were open. I would remind residents that all doors and windows should be locked, even if someone is in the house.
