Hacker T Dog is returning to turn on Wigan's Christmas lights!!!
Hacker T Dog

CBBC’s Hacker T Dog will be making a guest appearance at Wigan’s Christmas Light Switch on event on Thursday 15 November for the second year in a row.

The Christmas light switch-on takes place between 4pm and 7.30pm in Market Place and includes Hacker T Dog, as seen on CBBC show Hacker Time, along with a guest appearance from a 2012 X Factor star (details to be announced shortly) and a whole host of other acts and performers who will keep the crowds entertained until 7.30pm on the 50ft stage.

John Sanson, Centre Manager of the Grand Arcade commented:

“The 2012 Wigan Christmas Light Switch on provides free festive entertainment in the Town Centre. We are delighted that Hacker T Dog is joining us once again and we look forward to him entertaining us all! We are sure that the entertainment we have planned will be enjoyed by families, young and old – we’ve provided something for everyone!”

Radio presenter Danny Bee along with Luke Marsden are hosting the evening’s events and welcome a fabulous selection of acts including: Olivia Archbold, One Voice, Bon Bonz local singer Zoe Unsworth, local band Boomin, Wigan’s very own Scott Chapman and Kerry Casey too. The Rugby League World Cup trophy will also be on stage for the switch on. After the event finishes at 7.30pm, fans will then be offered the opportunity to have their photos taken alongside the Rugby World Cup Trophy where it will be displayed in the Grand Arcade shopping centre.

The town’s second Christmas event, Santa and reindeer parade takes place on Sunday 18 November, leaving Mesnes Park at 1pm arriving at Market Place at 1.30pm. The parade includes marching bands, costume characters and much, much more. Following the parade, Santa and his reindeers remain in Market Place along with the performers until 4.30pm. Mascots, local organisations and groups are all invited to join the parade, for further details, please e-mail the events team on info@wiganchristmas.co.uk.
