|New kitchen makeover for Community Focal Point
Cllr Morgan is pictured with Ray Donnelly, who worked with the diocese and Bob Ledson of Winstanley St Aidan’s FC to secure the capital and organise the installation of the new kitchen.
A favourite haunt of locals and a community focal point for events, St Aidan’s Social Centre in Winstanley is celebrating a kitchen makeover thanks to a donation from the Brighter Borough Fund.
Ward Councillor, Clive Morgan joined Ray Donnelly and Bob Ledson this week to unveil the £3,700 makeover which has seen the old tired kitchen make way for new modern units and hob.
The project costs were met via a £1,700 Brighter Borough Fund contribution with the remaining cost met by the diocese.
The makeover will assist the centre in securing future events and its users such as Winstanley St Aidan’s FC can now benefit from the upgraded facility.
Cllr Clive Morgan said:
“This has been a real team effort and I was delighted to be able to assist the centre when I was approached by Ray and Bob”
“St Aidan’s is at the heart of the community and brings people together through the very many events and groups that it supports. The kitchen makeover can only help in making the centre an attractive option for hosting future activities.”
