Appeal following burglary at house
A watch similar to the one stolen

Cherished items were stolen during a burglary at a house in Wigan.

Sometime between 12.30am and 5.45am on Saturday 13 October 2012, unknown offenders have forced their way into a house on Old Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield.

The intruders stole a Longine Dolce Vita ladies watch, featuring a mother of pearl face set with small diamonds, worth about £1000.00.

They also stole a Sony Vaio laptop, an iPad, some cash and cigarettes.

Police Constable Zoe Sajewicz, from the Volume Crime Team, said: "The watch in particular is of great sentimental value to the victim, and the laptop contains irrecoverable schoolwork belonging to her son.

“The whole family have been deeply affected by this intrusion into their home and I would therefore urge anyone who may have seen or has any knowledge of these possessions or indeed this crime to contact police as soon as possible.

“I would also urge local businesses who offer cash for goods, including jewellers and pawn brokers to be mindful of this incident and if they are approached with a view to buying the watch or any other item to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Volume Crime Team on 0161 856 7242, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
