Organisers of one of the North West’s biggest business events of 2012 were today pleased to welcome food giants, AB World Foods on board as the main sponsor for Wigan Business Expo Twenty12.

The Leigh-based company, whose brands include Pataks, Blue Dragon and Reggae Reggae, will be joining Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Small Businesses in supporting this year’s event, which will see over 120 local businesses exhibiting their products and services to an expected national audience of over 1,000 delegates.

Paul Bird of AB World Foods, said: ”Wigan Business Expo is an important date in the local business calendar and as a major employer in the area we are delighted to support this event.”

To mark the sponsorship of the event, the seminar lounge will be renamed for the day as “AB World Foods Seminar Lounge”. AB World Foods is also part of Associated British Foods whose brands include Primark, Twinings and Silver Spoon.

Deputy Leader of Wigan Council, Cllr David Molyneux, who has cabinet responsibility for economic regeneration, said: “Having such an internationally renowned, borough-based business sponsoring the event demonstrates how successful Wigan Business Expo has become over the last three years. We are proud of the amount of support this event has generated within the local business community and beyond and we know that Wigan Business Expo Twenty12 will be the best one yet.”

Wigan Business Expo Twenty12 takes place on Friday 12 October, 8am to 3pm at DW Stadium. It is free to attend and there is no need to pre-register. In addition to the exhibition, there will also be an informative seminar programme; an opportunity to get free one-to-one advice from experts across a number of fields; and Meet the Buyers (applications for appointments close on 18 September).
