|Re-appeal for witnesses after collision - Wigan
Police are re-appealing for witnesses after a man died following a road traffic collision in Wigan.
At about 5.15pm on Friday 3 May 2012, police were called to Saddle Junction on the A49 near to the Asda store, following a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
Officers attended and discovered Robert Foy had been involved in a collision with a Nissan Almera.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries but sadly died a short time later.
Police Sergeant Danny Byrne, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "An investigation is still ongoing into the circumstances surrounding this collision, and I am anxious to hear from anyone who saw the incident. In particular, the driver or passengers of a red vehicle, which I believe was travelling along the same road and may have witnessed it.
“We know there was there was a Wigan v Hull rugby league game on that evening and I am keen to hear from any supporter, whether they be from Wigan or Hull, who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch.
