Ellsey’s has supported this year’s Wigan and Leigh Hospice Manchester to Blackpool bike ride, by donating its fleet of delivery trucks!
The trucks transported 190 bikes from Wigan to the start line in Manchester, ready for the riders to begin the 60 mile bike ride north.
The 350 charity riders braved the wind and rain to cycle from Manchester through Wigan, finishing the route on the infamous South Promenade in Blackpool. Over the last 15 years the charity bike ride has raised £750,000 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, this year the hospice how to raise in excess of £50,000.
All the funds raised will go towards continuing to provide specialist palliative care services to individuals living with a life-threatening or incurable illness.
The next event on the hospice’s agenda is its annual Garden Party, sponsored by Ellsey’s, on Saturday 11th August. As part of the Garden Party, Ellsey’s will be gathering 80 people called ‘Ellsey’ to enjoy an afternoon tea party to celebrate its 80th anniversary!
