Desperately seeking Ellsey!

Wigan firm Ellsey’s Vinegar is looking for 80 people called Ellsey to help celebrate its big birthday bash!

The company turn 80 this year and to mark this large milestone have started a search to find 80 people named ‘Ellsey’ to attend a special anniversary tea party, held as part of Wigan and Leigh Hospice’s annual Garden Party on Saturday 11th August.

Ellsey’s want to truly commemorate its birthday in a way that will be remembered for years to come! Ellsey’s Managing Director Shaun Roberts said: “I would like to encourage anyone and everyone who shares our name to get in touch, whether your first name is Ellsey or if you’re a Mr, Mrs or Miss. Ellsey! Each and every ‘Ellsey’ will be treated like a VIP for the day at this unique gathering.”

On the day all guests will enjoy complimentary tea and cakes, hear some interesting facts about the longstanding company, receive a celebratory scroll to keep and, of course, enjoy the Garden Party activities! The special occasion will also be detailed in Ellsey’s 80th Anniversary book, which is set to be published later this year and will be kept in the Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust archives.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice host the Garden Party every year to celebrate summer and raise valuable funds. As part of Ellsey’s year long celebrations they have sponsored this year’s Garden Party. Shaun continued: “Ellsey’s is proud of its Wigan roots, so we are delighted to link up with Wigan and Leigh Hospice to hold our 80 Ellsey’s event. We are very much looking forward to the day and know it will be one to remember!”

The Garden Party will begin at 12noon and will include refreshments, a barbeque, a variety of stalls including jewellery, crafts, homemade cakes and plenty more, with music and fun for all the family. Funds raised will go towards continuing to provide free care to hundreds of people every year.
