Tribute paid to man stabbed to death, Wigan

The family of a man who was fatally stabbed in Wigan has paid tribute to him.

Ian John Sudworth, 24 years old and from Beech Hill was found injured on Scot Lane shortly after 4.05am.

He was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem examination concluded that the cause of Ianís death were stab wounds.

In a statement, Ianís parents said: "Ian, you always looked for the silver lining to every cloud. We are having to struggle to find this one all by ourselves. Miss you and love you always."

A 21-year-old man remains in police custody having been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman who were earlier arrested have now been released without charge. .
