|Wigan's Christmas Light Switch-On Has the Risk!
Wigan Town Centre management, The Galleries and Grand Arcade have also announced that X Factor Finalists “The Risk” are performing at Wigan Town Centre Christmas Light Switch on Event on Thursday 17 November!
The Risk are a four piece boy band including: Derry Mensah (21), Andrew Merry (20), Charlie Healy (25) and Ashford Campbell (19) who were mentored during the XFactor finals by N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos. The boy band were the favourites to win the show, but were unfortunately voted off Xfactor in a double elimination against Johnny Robinson in the results show on Sunday evening.
The town’s Christmas Light Switch on event is part of Wigan Town Centre’s Christmas event which also include the Santa and Reindeer parade. The Christmas light switch on event takes place between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Thursday 17 November in Market Place in the town centre and includes XFactor 2011 Finalists The Risk, Hacker T Dog from BBC Children's TV show Hacker Time and a whole host of other acts and performers keeping the crowds entertained until 7.30pm.
The Santa and Reindeer parade takes place on Sunday 20 November, starting at 1pm from Mesnes Park arriving at Market Place at 1.30pm. The parade includes marching bands, costume characters and much, much more. Following the parade, Santa and his reindeers remain in Market Place along with the performers until 4.30pm.

Wigan Town Centre management, The Galleries and Grand Arcade have joined together to organise the town’s 2011 Christmas events. The Christmas light switch on event launches late night shopping in the town with shops open until 8pm.
