The Galleries Staff Take Part in Jean-ious Idea for Charity
Wednesday 5th October, 2011

Staff at The Galleries Shopping Centre are swapping the centre uniform for Jeans on Jeans for Genes Day 2011 which takes place this Friday, 7 October.
Shopping Centre staff are making a £2 donation to wear their jeans on the day to raise funds for Jeans for Genes day.

Jeans for Genes is the national charity raising money for children with genetic disorders, to fund the care they need now and the research which could change their futures.
Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies born each year.

Richard Paxton, centre director of The Galleries commented “We are delighted to support the Jeans for Genes campaign. Donations have already been received from keen staff and centre retailers have already kindly forwarded donations too!”

Jeans for Genes Day invites companies and schools across the UK to wear their jeans to work or school in return for a donation. This year is the charity’s 16th anniversary and to date it has raised £36 million to help change the lives of children with genetic disorders.
