Take a leap for Charity
Tuesday 12th April, 2011

There’s an invitation to help the Mayor’s Charity raise awareness and funds to improve local services for Stroke Survivors – in dramatic fashion.

Thrill seeking fundraisers will be taking a leap by abseiling down the landmark tower at the Oak Hotel in Wigan, to raise awareness of Stroke and help improve local services for Stroke Survivors.

This event is taking place on Saturday 16 April 2011 from 10am – 4pm, and is being organised by the council’s children and young people’s teams in support of this year’s Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

The sponsored abseil is open to anyone from the age of 10 or over and is suitable for individuals or groups for a minimum donation of £5 per adult and £3 per child. To register your interest and receive a sponsorship pack please contact Eric Bradbury, Boroughwide Outdoor Education Manager, on 01942 769812.

Donations can also be made to the Mayor’s Charity, Registered Charity No. 1114354, by forwarding cheques (made payable to “Mayor’s Charity Appeal) to the Mayoral Secretary, Wigan Council, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 1YN.
