|Wigan Business Expo Twenty10 is Backing Borough Businesses
Wigan Council Deputy Leader Cllr David Molyneux, President of Wigan Chamber of Commerce Miranda Barker and Claire Walsh from the council’s Economic Regeneration Office get ready for Expo Twenty10.
The best that Wigan has to offer...
That’s the theme of an exciting business and trade exhibition that’s coming to the borough next month (October).
Wigan Business Expo Twenty10 is a first-of-its-kind showcase for local firms and will be headlining at Wigan’s DW Stadium on Friday October 15.
Organised by Wigan Council’s Economic Regeneration Office, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Borough-based construction company Hughes Brothers, The Best of Wigan and Business Link, the event offers exhibition space for local firms along with a series of seminars aimed at providing local businesses with all the tools they need to grow and develop their business.
The seminar programme includes advice on:
- Securing contracts with the public and private sectors
- Changes in Employment Law
- Advice about Financial Assistance
- Building strong media relations
There will also be opportunity for expo-goers to meet some of the borough’s major employers such as the council, NHS Trust and big businesses such as Heinz.
Wigan Council’s Cabinet Champion for the Economy, Cllr David Molyneux, says: “Good business is where you find it and we believe you can find it right here in Wigan.
“The council and its partners have pledged their commitment to supporting local firms through these difficult financial times. We believe that the Business Expo Twenty10 will kick-start this process, help to bring the business community in the borough closer together and raise the profile of the borough as an investment location.
“There are plenty of exciting business opportunities taking place in our borough and we believe we are in a strong position to encourage future growth by supporting our partners in the private sector.”
Entrance to Wigan Business Expo Twenty10 is free with exhibition space costing just £250 if booked before Thursday September 30 (full price £300).
There is the chance to have a one-to-one meeting with buyers from Heinz, Wigan Council, the NHS Trust and a Supply Chain Strategist for major supermarkets, as well with advisors from Business Link, who can provide you with information and guidance in relation to financial assistance and other support available. Appointments last 15 minutes each and can be booked in advance. Appointments will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis.
Organisers are expecting buyers from firms across the region to attend and are advising local firms to book their space early to avoid disappointment.
